「童子！以是義故，汝應住於不放逸行，是諸菩薩所應修學。何以故？不放逸者尚得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提，何況此三昧也？童子！云何菩薩住不放逸？童子！是菩薩成就善淨戒聚。童子！云何成就善淨戒聚？童子！是菩薩不捨一切智心學六波羅蜜。
"O Youth! For this reason, you should abide in the practice of non-negligence, which all bodhisattvas should study and cultivate. Why is this? Even non-negligent people attain anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi, so how much more easily would they attain this samādhi? O Youth! How does a bodhisattva abide in non-negligence? O Youth! The bodhisattva perfects the accumulation of pure discipline. O Youth! How does one perfect the accumulation of pure discipline? O Youth! The bodhisattva never abandons the aspiration for omniscience and studies the six pāramitās.
「童子！若菩薩不捨一切智心行六波羅蜜，所有利益，汝當諦聽，當為汝說。童子！菩薩信樂檀波羅蜜者有十種利益。何等為十？一者、降伏慳悋煩惱；二者、修習捨心相續；三者、共諸眾生同其資產，攝受堅固而至滅度；四者、生豪富家；五者、在所生處施心現前；六者、常為四眾之所愛樂；七者、處於四眾不怯、不畏；八者、勝名流布遍於諸方；九者、手足柔軟，足掌安平；十者、乃至道樹不離善知識，謂佛、菩薩、聲聞弟子。童子！是為菩薩信樂布施十種利益。」
"O Youth! There are many benefits if a bodhisattva does not abandon the aspiration for omniscience and practices the six pāramitās. You should listen attentively, and I will explain them to you.
"O Youth! There are ten benefits for the bodhisattva who has faith and joy in the perfection of giving. What are the ten? First, they subdue the affliction of stinginess. Second, they continuously cultivate the mind of generosity. Third, they share their wealth with all sentient beings, nurturing samādhi until reaching nirvāṇa. Fourth, they are born into wealthy families. Fifth, wherever they are born, the mind of generosity manifests. Sixth, they are always loved and cherished by the fourfold saṅgha. Seventh, they are neither timid nor fearful when they are among the fourfold saṅgha. Eighth, their excellent reputation spreads far and wide. Ninth, their hands and feet are soft, and the soles of their feet are smooth and firm. Tenth, until they reach the Bodhi tree, they are never separated from good spiritual friends, such as the Buddhas, bodhisattvas, and śrāvaka disciples. O Youth! These are the ten benefits for bodhisattvas who rejoice in giving."
爾時，世尊即說偈言：
At that time, the Bhagavān spoke the following gāthā:
「降伏於慳悋、
增長布施心、
攝受施堅固，
生在豪富家，
"Subdue stinginess,
Increase the mind of giving,
Nurture steadfast generosity,
And one will be born into a wealthy family.
於其所生處，
而能起捨心，
為在家出家，
諸眾生愛樂，
In every place of birth,
One will manifest the mind of generosity,
Be loved by householders and monastics,
Cherished by all sentient beings.
若入大眾中，
無畏不怯弱，
勝名聲遠布，
遍城邑聚落，
When entering great assemblies,
One will be fearless and without timidity,
Your excellent reputation will spread far,
To towns and villages alike.
手足恒柔軟，
成就具足相，
值遇善知識，
聲聞佛、菩薩。
With hands and feet always soft,
One will perfect all the marks,
Encounter good spiritual friends,
Including śrāvakas, buddhas, and bodhisattvas.
常懷惠施心，
未曾有悋惜，
為億眾生愛，
是為捨慳利；
Always keeping a generous mind,
One will never cling to stinginess,
Beloved by countless sentient beings,
This is the benefit of relinquishing stinginess.
生在豪富族，
心常樂布施，
攝受捨堅固，
是為樂施利；
Born into a wealthy family,
With a mind always joyful in giving,
One will firmly nurture generosity;
This is the benefit of delighting in giving.
處在大眾數，
勝名遍諸方，
手足柔軟好，
是樂施之利；
Dwelling among great assemblies,
With a reputation spreading far,
One's hands and feet will be soft and beautiful,
This is the benefit of delighting in giving.
遭遇善知識，
謂佛、菩薩等，
見已競來供，
是樂施之利。
Encountering good spiritual friends,
Such as Buddhas, bodhisattvas, and others,
They eagerly come to offer,
This is the benefit of delighting in giving."
