「童子！菩薩摩訶薩心生樂欲：
O Youth! The bodhisattva mahāsattva gives rise to the joyful wish:
『我於一切法自性云何得知？』
‘How can I come to know the nature of all dharmas?’
童子！菩薩摩訶薩於此三昧應當受持、讀誦、為他廣說、修習方便相應，為攝一切眾生故。」
O Youth! The bodhisattva mahāsattva should uphold this samādhi, recite it, extensively teach it to others, and practise the skillful means accordingly, for the sake of gathering all sentient beings.
爾時，世尊即說偈言：
At that time, the Bhagavān spoke these verses:
「智者無恚愛，
又不起愚癡，
煩惱悉微薄，
知勝寂法故。
The wise one is free from anger and desire,
And does not give rise to delusion;
All defilements are completely diluted,
Because they know the supreme tranquil Dharma.
佛戒不缺犯，
女色無縱逸，
堅心求是定，
知法離塵垢。
They do not violate the Buddha’s precepts,
And are not reckless in regard to women's form;
With firm mind, they seek this samādhi,
Knowing the Dharma is free from defilement.
智慧及神足，
覲佛詣多剎，
總持到彼岸，
以知寂定故。
With wisdom and supernatural abilities,
They meet Buddhas and visit many realms;
Through dhāraṇī, they reach the other shore,
Because they know the tranquil samādhi.
速成兩足尊，
為寂治煩惱，
善拔惡毒箭，
說無垢寂句。
They quickly become the honoured among the bipeds,
And use tranquility to subdue defilements;
They skillfully remove the poisonous arrow of evil,
And speak the undefiled words of tranquility.
若人為良醫，
善知病起由，
學此智決定，
解脫眾生害。
If a person is a good physician,
Who understands well the origin of illness,
By studying this wisdom with determination,
They liberate sentient beings from harm.
學理得自在，
無著堪供養，
安眾無悕望，
解知淨法故。
By learning the principle, they attain freedom,
Without attachment, they are worthy of offerings;
They bring peace to sentient beings without expectation,
Because they understand the pure Dharma.
人師子忍辱，
打罵無瞋恚，
屠割亦不惱，
能知陰空故。
The lion among men endures insults,
Struck or scolded, they do not become angry;
Even if cut to pieces, they are not distressed,
For they understand the emptiness of the aggregates.
忍力如須彌，
都無計忍想，
乃至佛不存，
知有常空故。
Their patience is like Mount Sumeru,
Without even the thought of patience;
Even if the Buddha no longer remains,
They know there is the constancy of emptiness.
三界無量想，
三世悉了知，
能顯理無量，
無畏學法故。
In the three realms are countless thoughts,
They understand the three times completely;
They reveal the boundless principles,
Fearlessly practising the Dharma.
於事不取想，
愛、憎悉不取，
知法常空寂，
得勝寂滅故。
In things, they do not grasp at ideas,
They do not grasp at love or hatred;
Knowing that the Dharma is always empty and tranquil,
They attain the supreme extinction.
若說此勝定，
不久見菩提，
聖境善了達，
施是獲多報。
If one expounds this supreme Samādhi,
They will soon see bodhi;
They will thoroughly understand the noble range,
And by giving, they will gain great rewards.
說億修多羅，
所演無滯礙，
辯才不斷絕，
知法廣大故。
Expounding millions of sūtras,
Their exposition has no obstructions;
Their eloquence is never-ending,
Because they know the vast Dharma.
若人不思劫，
定慧猶如雲，
說法無窮盡，
知此寂定故。
For one who does not consider kalpas,
Their concentration and wisdom are like clouds;
They speak the Dharma without end,
Because they know this tranquil Samādhi.
辯才不思議，
求道必能得，
說無邊億經，
知法相名遍。
Their eloquence is inconceivable,
Seeking the path, they will surely attain it;
They expound countless sūtras,
Knowing the characteristics and names of dharmas universally.
佛說無上法，
聞持令充滿，
於中無疑惑，
知法悉非有。
The Buddha speaks the unsurpassed Dharma,
Listening to and upholding it fully;
Within it, there is no doubt,
Knowing that all dharmas do not truly exist.
愛語常行施，
善捨拯貧樂，
資生恣充足，
悲愍世間故。
With kind speech, they always practise giving,
Generously helping the poor and joyful;
Their sustenance is abundant and sufficient,
Due to their compassion for the world.
當作閻浮王，
愍眾無瞋怒，
眾人起慈敬，
以知空法故；
They shall become a king of Jambudvīpa,
Compassionate towards the masses without anger;
The people will give rise to kindness and respect,
Because they understand the empty Dharma.
端正妻、男、女，
王位、身皆捨，
決定無悋悔，
以知空寂故；
They will abandon their handsome wife, sons, and daughters,
As well as their throne and body,
With certainty and without regret,
Because they know emptiness and tranquility.
若人割支節，
夢寤都無瞋，
曾供無量佛，
以持空法故；
Even if their limbs are cut off,
In dreams and wakefulness, they have no anger;
They have served countless buddhas,
Because they uphold the empty Dharma.
供養牟尼日，
三世無疲倦，
大信心不動，
是知空法故；
They make offerings to the Sun of Munis,
Without weariness through the three times;
Their great faith is unwavering,
Because they know the empty Dharma.
善持佛法藏，
住勝陀羅尼，
不久得成佛，
以持勝經故。
They well uphold the Buddha’s Dharma treasure,
Dwelling in the supreme dhāraṇī;
Soon they will attain Buddhahood,
Because they uphold the supreme sūtra.
世世不聾、盲，
曠劫具諸根，
八難常遠離，
係心說此經。
Throughout their lives, they will not be deaf or blind,
Through long kalpas, they will possess all faculties;
They will always be far from the eight difficulties,
Focusing their mind on expounding this sūtra.
為福離惡道，
端正相莊嚴，
心淨住神通，
以斯佛現前。
For the sake of merit, they avoid the evil paths,
With beautiful and adorned features,
Their pure mind dwells in spiritual power,
And thus the Buddha appears before them.
種種應化身，
諸剎度眾生，
若得見彼者，
菩提意決定。
With various transformation bodies,
They liberate sentient beings in many realms;
Those who meet them,
Will have their mind determined for bodhi.
智念無憂者，
精進勢力起，
勝法中究竟，
末世持經故。
Those who are mindful and free from worry,
Rise with the power of diligence;
They attain the ultimate in the supreme Dharma,
By upholding this sūtra in the final age.
身出千億光，
其光蔽日月，
若修習空定，
不久人中勝。
Their body emits billions of rays of light,
That outshine the sun and moon;
If they cultivate the Samādhi of emptiness,
They will soon become supreme among people.
我求寂境界，
千億僧祇劫，
不捨勤精進，
為然燈授記。
I sought the tranquil realm,
For countless billions of kalpas,
Never abandoning diligent effort,
And received a prophecy from Dīpaṃkara.
智應行是經，
說勝諸佛法，
外道愚癡失，
命終地獄煮。
The wise should practise this sūtra,
Expounding the supreme Dharma of the Buddhas;
The foolish followers of non-Buddhist paths fail,
And after death, they are cooked in hell.
受苦最尤劇，
那由劫乃盡，
多劫畢罪已，
得為甘露因。
They endure the most severe suffering,
For many kalpas before it ends;
After completing many kalpas of punishment,
They become a cause for attaining nectar (the deathless; amṛta).
末代可怖時，
近於無上道，
護持我法藏，
記彼持是經。
In the terrifying time of the final age,
Approaching the unsurpassed path,
They will uphold my Dharma treasure,
And receive a prophecy for upholding this sūtra.
