爾時,世尊而說偈言:
At that time, the Bhagavān spoke a gāthā, saying:
「佛法智無量,
演說無窮盡,
廣說諸法已,
普獲諸功德。
"The Buddha's Dharma wisdom is immeasurable,
Expounded without end.
Having extensively explained all dharmas,
One universally attains all merits.
廣大如虛空,
是法相如是,
此為究竟寶,
故名為方廣;
Vast like space,
This is the characteristic of the Dharma.
This is the ultimate treasure,
Therefore called Vaipulya;
眾生行無邊,
為說法亦廣,
無盡阿含義,
故號為方廣。」
Sentient beings' practices are boundless,
The Dharma taught for them is also vast.
The meaning of the inexhaustible teachings,
Therefore called Vaipulya."
說此法時,無量眾生悉發阿耨多羅三藐三菩提心、無量眾生於菩提得不退轉、無量眾生發辟支佛心、無量眾生證於三果。
When this Dharma was spoken, immeasurable sentient beings all gave rise to the mind of anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi, immeasurable sentient beings attained irreversibility in bodhi, immeasurable sentient beings gave rise to the mind of pratyekabuddha, and immeasurable sentient beings realized the three fruits.
復於此三千大千世界六種震動,雨天妙香、灑散天花、擊作百千萬種諸天音樂、於虛空中雨諸天衣,旋轉而下作如是言:
Furthermore, this trichiliocosm shook in six ways, rained down heavenly fragrances, scattered heavenly flowers, struck hundreds of thousands of myriads of heavenly musical instruments, and rained heavenly garments from the sky, swirling down and saying:
「是諸眾生聞此法故,獲大善利;是諸眾生於無量佛所宿殖善本故,聞此法歡喜受持、讀誦、書寫、為人解說,與一切眾生作上福田、成就利益一切眾生,不斷佛種;是諸眾生決定能為菩提先道,聞是法門起如實行。」
"Because these sentient beings heard this Dharma, they attained great benefits. Because these sentient beings have previously planted good roots under immeasurable Buddhas, they joyfully accept and uphold this Dharma, read and recite it, copy it, explain it to others, become the supreme field of merit for all sentient beings, accomplish benefiting all sentient beings, and do not cut off the Buddha lineage. These sentient beings will definitely be able to take the prior path to bodhi and give rise to the practice in accordance with this Dharma gate."
爾時,佛告阿難:
At that time, the Buddha told Ānanda:
「汝當受持如是法門,讀誦、受持、書寫、為人廣說。」
"You should accept and uphold this Dharma gate, read and recite it, accept and uphold it, copy it, and explain it extensively to others."
阿難白佛言:
Ānanda said to the Buddha:
「當何名斯經?云何奉持?」
"What should this sūtra be named? How should it be upheld?"
佛告阿難:
The Buddha told Ānanda:
「是經名為『入於大悲』,汝當受持;名為『一切諸法體性平等無戲論三昧』,汝當受持。」
"This sūtra should be named 'The Entry into Great Compassion,' thus you should take up and bear it. It should also be named 'The Samādhi of the Equality of the Essential Nature of All Dharmas without Disputation,' thus you should take up and bear it."
阿難白佛言:
Ānanda said to the Buddha:
「如佛勅旨,我當受持此法門。」
"As the Buddha indicates, I shall take up and bear this Dharma gate."
說此經已,爾時月光童子歡喜踊躍,阿逸多菩薩等八十億那由他菩薩,長老阿難及諸四眾——比丘、比丘尼、優婆塞、優婆夷——淨居天子、娑婆世界主梵天王,及天帝釋、四天王等諸天、世人、阿修羅眾,聞佛所說,歡喜奉行。
After speaking this sūtra, at that time the youth Candraprabha joyfully leapt up, the eighty koṭi nayuta bodhisattvas led by Ajita, the elder Ānanda, and the fourfold assembly of bhikṣus, bhikṣuṇīs, upāsakas, and upāsikās, the devas of the Pure Abodes, the Brahmā kings who are the lords of the Sahā world, Śakra Devānām Indra, the four heavenly kings, and the devas, humans, asuras, and others, having heard the Buddha's words, rejoiced and practised them accordingly.
