Bodhisattvas from all directions arrive and make offerings to the Bodhisattva Śākyamuni which praise his virtues and qualities.
1. As the Bodhisattva sat down, the gods protected all directions from obstacles.
2. He emitted a light called inspiring the bodhisattvas throughout all buddha realms.
a. From the east, Lalitavyūha Bodhisattva came and displayed all buddha realms as a blue beryl maṇḍala. He also made the Bodhisattva visible to all bodhisattvas who praised his freedom from attachment, his light, and how he now beautifies all places.
b. From the south, Ratnacchattrakūṭasaṃdarśana Bodhisattva came and sheltered the entire area with a jewel parasol. The gods are told that this is donated to the master of good qualities who went to the Bodhi Tree.
c. From the west, Indrajālin Bodhisattva came and sheltered the area with a jewel canopy. The jewel canopy speaks and says to the nāgas, yakṣas and gandharvas that this is donated to the best of gems, who has the diligence to never be cut off from the Three Jewels.
d. From the north, Vyūharāja Bodhisattva revealed the complete displays of qualities of all buddha realms in the ten directions. The bodhisattvas are told from the displays that this is to venerate him whose body, speech, and mind have been purified.
e. From the south east, Guṇamati Bodhisattva emanated a multistoried palace with all perfect qualities, which announced that this palace was only a
trace of the Bodhisattva’s good qualities, who is an ocean of qualities.
f. From the south west, Ratnasambhava Bodhisattva came and emanated limitless precious-stone pavilions which announced that he who has renounced all precious objects and pavilions now sits at the seat of awakening
g. From the north west, Meghakūṭābhigarjitasvara Bodhisattva came and manifested a cloud of gum benjamin[1] and aloeswood and caused a rain of sandalwood dust to fall, the cloud said he spreads the cloud of Dharma throughout the three realms and cause the Dharma to fall like rain.
h. From the north east, Hemajālapratichannā Bodhisattva came and emanated bodhisattvas with 32 marks on each of the palaces and pavilions offering to the Bodhisattva, each said they bow to he who praised a million buddhas and has a voice like the melody of Brahmā.
i. From the nadir, Ratnagarbha Bodhisattva came and displayed lotuses made from gold of the Jambū river, in which were women offering all sorts of ornaments, and they sang that one should bow down to he who always bowed to the buddhas without pride.
j. From the zenith, Gagaṇagañja Bodhisattva rained down unseen-before precious items, ornaments, and beings, such as nāgas, humans, flowers, and incense. All felt joy and happiness and did no harm.
3. This episode is recounted in verse form with great praise given for these bodhisattvas.
